Cookies
ClubCarbon uses almost none of the tracking machinery most sites run. Here's the complete list of what's stored in your browser, there's nothing beyond what's on this page.
The one cookie
A single cookie, clubcarbon_session, keeps you signed in. It holds a random session token, nothing that identifies you on its own, expires automatically after 30 days, and can't be read by any script on the page (it's httpOnly). It exists purely so you don't have to log in on every request, and is removed when you sign out.
What's in local storage
Three small preferences are saved in your browser's local storage, not sent to our server at all: whether you've switched to dark mode, and whether you've dismissed the on-page "What each tab does" and "What does tCO₂e mean" explainer boxes. None of these carry any data about you, they're remembered per browser so the app doesn't nag you with the same explainer every visit.
What's not here
No analytics, no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers of any kind, ClubCarbon doesn't run any. If your club subscribes, Stripe's own hosted checkout and billing pages (a different domain, stripe.com) may set their own cookies while you're on them, that's governed by Stripe's own privacy policy, not ClubCarbon's, and outside our control.
Managing this
Since the session cookie is what keeps you signed in, clearing it (or your browser's cookies generally) just logs you out. Clearing local storage resets the theme and explainer boxes back to their defaults. Nothing here needs a consent banner because none of it is used for tracking or advertising.
